Measure of a Man
Clay Aiken has sung Measure of a Man at public events that were attended by members of the military. I'll always remember seeing the tears in the eyes of these brave men.
Remembrance Day – also known as Poppy Day, Armistice Day (the event it commemorates) or Veterans Day – is a day to commemorate the sacrifices of members of the armed forces and of civilians in times of war, since the First World War.
Armistice Day went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918.
It is the tradition to have two minutes of silence at this time, to reflect and remember.

May we NEVER forget the sacrifice of our troops over the years for OUR FREEDOM. We take our freedom for granted...but it has been won and maintained with a cost. Generations of my family believed in our right to freedom and took up arms. I am so grateful. Maybe some day OMC will go over and entertain troops. luv b
Beautiful, touching blog. Ashes, you truly know how to get to the heart of the matter. Thank you for all your fine efforts.
thank you Ashes!
My son-in-law is in Iraq right now. We get him home *fingers crossed* for a couple of weeks in February and then back until August. It will be over a year, and his second tour.
We owe our men and women of the military our heartfelt thanks.
Ashes,
What an inspiring, commemorative entry remembering veterans in our two countries!
As always, your graphics are very special and complement the blog's motif.
Thank you for your kind comments in the "Broadway Cares" blog. Have a wonderful week!
