Clay Aiken - Virtual Duets

Little Drummer Boy - Clay Aiken - Bing Crosby

Clay Aiken sang the Little Drummer Boy with Bing Crosby on the Nick at Nite Christmas Holiday Special 2003. A truly memorable virtual duet.
Today's technology gives us many virtual get togethers -- the next best thing to being in person, and a lot more fun than a virtual business meeting!

Last blog I shared friend's lovely montages, this time we'll be entertained by our friend Bsrefong as well as a new montage from Chimarie62!
We have a new fun Claze, and very neat graphics as well.

Thank you Sally for all your contributions to this virtual gathering place throughout the year :)

Clay Aiken - Gift That Keeps On Giving

Dble click for WP

Wishing my friends around the world a Merry Christmas!
It's thanks to Clay Aiken that we have met in cyberspace, and then some in real life.
What a treat it is to do that!
Here's to meeting many more friends at the next Clay Aiken Tour in 2010!!

For many folks their friends are the greatest gift all year round.

What Is A Friend?

A friend is somebody
Who knows you and likes you
Exactly the way that you are.

And whether you're neighbors Or live miles apart,
A word from a friend gives a lift
To your heart and spirit.
That shows you once more
Why friendship is life's dearest gift!

Clay Aiken The Spirit of Christmas w/ Mary Did You Know

Clay Aiken introduced me to a Christmas song -- Mary Did You Know.
This was a song I wasn't familiar with, and when I first heard about Clay singing it, I looked it up and listened to another singer's version. I honestly wasn't impressed.
THEN I heard Clay's rendition and quickly changed my mind.
The classic Clay passion and love shines when he sings MDYK, making it one of the most beautiful of the carols.

This new montage of Mary Did You Know features the audio from video by Toni7babe.

Mary Did You Know

The following story was in an e-mail, it illustrates The Spirit of Christmas.
Thank you Bonnie :)

'Friends are God's way of taking care of us.'
This was written by a Metro Denver Hospice Physician:

I was driving home from a meeting this evening about 5, stuck in traffic on Colorado Blvd., and the car started to choke and splutter and die - I barely managed to coast into a gas station, glad only that I would not be blocking traffic and would have a somewhat warm spot to wait for the tow truck. It wouldn't even turn over. Before I could make the call, I saw a woman walking out of the quickie mart building, and it looked like she slipped on some ice and fell into a gas pump, so I got out to see if she was okay.

When I got there, it looked more like she had been overcome by sobs than that she had fallen; she was a young woman who looked really haggard with dark circles under her eyes. She dropped something as I helped her up, and I picked it up to give it to her. It was a nickel.

At that moment, everything came into focus for me: the crying woman, the ancient Suburban crammed full of stuff with 3 kids in the back (1 in a car seat), and the gas pump reading $4.95.

I asked her if she was okay and if she needed help, and she just kept saying 'I don't want my kids to see me crying,' so we stood on the other side of the pump from her car. She said she was driving to California and that things were very hard for her right now. So I asked, 'And you were praying?' That made her back away from me a little, but I assured her I was not a crazy person and said, 'He heard you, and He sent me.'

I took out my card and swiped it through the card reader on the pump so she could fill up her car completely, and while it was fuelling, walked to the next door McDonald's and bought 2 big bags of food, some gift certificates for more, and a big cup of coffee. She gave the food to the kids in the car, who attacked it like wolves, and we stood by the pump eating fries and talking a little.

She told me her name, and that she lived in Kansas City Her boyfriend left 2 months ago and she had not been able to make ends meet. She knew she wouldn't have money to pay rent Jan. 1, and finally in desperation had finally called her parents, with whom she had not spoken in about 5 years. They lived in California and said she could come live with them and try to get on her feet there.

So she packed up everything she owned in the car. She told the kids they were going to California for Christmas, but not that they were going to live there. I gave her my gloves, a little hug and said a quick prayer with her for safety on the road. As I was
walking over to my car, she said, 'So, are you like an angel or something?'

This definitely made me cry. I said, 'Sweetie, at this time of year angels are really busy, so sometimes God uses regular people.'

It was so incredible to be a part of someone else's miracle. And of course, you guessed it, when I got in my car it started right away and got me home with no problem. I'll put it in the shop tomorrow to check, but I suspect the mechanic won't find anything wrong.

Sometimes the angels fly close enough to you that you can hear the flutter of their wings...

Clay Aiken - Sweetest Christmas Song I ever heard

WP

When Clay Aiken sang Beautiful Star of Bethlehem at the '05 Christmas tour in Raleigh, NC, he touched the hearts of everyone hearing it.
After hearing Clay's version of BSOB, it was the sweetest song I ever heard. It quickly became a favourite in my library of Christmas songs.

Thanks to Clay's talented videographer fans, those of us unable to be at the concert in person have been enjoying this special performance.
The video used in my montage is by jojoct.

"Christmas Is Coming"

Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat
Please put a penny in the old man's hat
If you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do
If you haven't got a ha'penny, then God bless you!

The rhyme became the basis for the song "Christmas Is a-Comin", re-written by Frank Luther and performed by Bing Crosby, and others.

This montage will put you into the Christmas mood!

Clay Aiken - Spreading Blessings

A Happy Thanksgiving from Canada
to My U.S. friends!
Wishing all my friends a wonderful day, no matter where you are! We already celebrated Thanksgiving here last month. I have friends who live in Arizona for the winter, and they celebrate again with their friends there.
Every day is a day for giving thanks.

Sad personal events have reminded me of so much I have to be thankful for every day.
Something that keeps me from dwelling on sad things is my computer. How?
Easy answer, my friends and Clay Aiken!

A new Rebus puzzle thanks to Bsrefong (Sally).
Answers below.

Before getting 100% into Christmas entries, I found a montage that I forgot to post earlier.
